How to love your pixie hair!

So you have been on pinterest and seen all the amazing pictures of cute girls with pixie hair cuts and fallen in love, i can't blame you either, they are pretty amazing.

You have decided to make the huge decision to chop off all your locks, not really knowing how it's going to go and then bam! You officially hate your hair…

You may feel that you don't know how to style it, that its always going to look the same, its flat, its gets oily faster, and that it is actually going to take years before you will be able to do anything with it.

If you're in this situation then keep reading because I have had the pixie hair and the short bobs / shags, and I have hated it loved it. Here are my tips.

How to love your hair.

Step 1. Don't give up on it completely, keep it healthy.

Step 2. Get some foils and/ or layers, add some texture in there!

Step 3. Invest in some good quality texturising spray, this will be your new bff.

Step 4. Don't go too long before washes because oily hair is not attractive and i find more noticeable in shorter hair.

Step 5. Take your fringe (if you have one) and put it in a different direction for the day, maybe you could pin it back for a change. Put it to the side or straight back and teeze it a little. There are so many different ways to style your fringe, you'll never get bored!

Step 6. Get some cute headbands, they add a cute little detail to your hair.

Step 7. If you really hate that much and are growing it out, get regular trims. (Im not a prime example on this but its a good idea) :P

Step 8. Be patient. There is nothing left to do now but work with what you have for the next couple months so just roll with it!

And if you are wanting to get your hair hair cut I thought I might throw some cute style ideas in here :)

Rimmel 60 seconds dry nail polish

The colour I am using today is 819 Green With Envy. The picture doesn't show it but it is blue with green metallics through it.

For a classic manicure you do a base coat, two coats of the polish and a top coat.

Some polishes require more than two coats to get the perfect amount of colour payoff. The Rimmel 60 second only requires two polishes to get the perfect colour.

The brush called an xpress brush. It is flat and great for application, covering more nail with a fuller coverage

Here is the side view of the brush

After one coat ^

After second coat,^ before tidy up and top coat.

After top coat and clean up.

Now for the claim of drying in 60 seconds

It's true. I didn't time it but it really does dry very fast, which is a big bonus!
I bought mine at Priceline for about $6.

Overall I am very impressed with this product and will definitely be buying more colours.

Till next time! Xx

SKINCARE
-How many times do you wash your face daily?

I was my skin only once at night, washing your skin in both the morning and night can cause it to become more irritated and make your skin worse!-
What skin type do you have? (dry, oily, combo)
I have a combination skin (which is dry cheeks mostly and an oily T section)
-What is your current facial wash?
At the moment I am using Sothy's cleanser, toner, and rejuvenating cream
.-Do you exfoliate?
Because I have sensitive skin exfoliating only makes me break out more, so, no.
-Do you have freckles?
I have a few random freckles
-Do you use eye cream?
No-
Do you or did you have acne prone skin?
No, I don't get acne but my skin isn't super clear.
-Did you ever have to use Pro-activ?
No

MAKE-UP
-What foundation do you use?

At the moment I am using Benefit Oxygen Wow foundation.
-How about concealer?
Yes, I use Benefit Erase Paste
-Do you know your undertone colour?
Blue undertones
-What do you think of fake eyelashes?
I do love the idea of false lashes but I find that they can look ridiculous.
-Did you know that you are suppose to change your mascara every 3 months?
Yep.
-What brand of mascara do you use?
Benefit They're Real! mascara-
Sephora or MAC?
In Australia we don't have either.
-Do you have a MAC Pro-card?
No
-What makeup tools do you use in make up application?
I use a Kabuki brush or a wet sponge for blending and applying foundation, a blush brush, and eyeshadow brushes.
-Do you use make-up base/primer for the eyes?
I use an Australis eye primer
-For the face?
No, only moisturiser
-What is your favorite eyeshadow (color or shade)?
I like simple browns or golden browns
-Do you use pencil or liquid eyeliner?
I use liquid on the top lash line and pencil on the lower lash line
-How often do you poke your eyes with an eyeliner pencil?
ALL THE TIME
-What do you think of pigment eyeshadows?
Brilliant for special occasion use and if used with a primer they can last for ages
-Do you use mineral makeup?
Not at the moment, but I do prefer it
.-What is your favorite lipstick?
Anything that is somewhat natural.
-How about lipgloss?
None-
What is your favorite blush to use?

Yes, it is just as good as high end makeup
-Do you go to CCO's? (cosmetic company outlets)
Not yet
-Did you ever consider taking make-up classes?
I will soon be a qualified makeup artist through my Beauty Therapy course
-Are you clumsy in putting on makeup?
I try not to be but i do have quite shaky hands.-
Name a makeup crime that you hate?
UNBLENDED FOUNDATION
-Do you like colorful shades of makeup (lipstick, eyeshadow) or neutral ones?
I like the idea of colourful makeup and would love to able to pull it off but i always go neutral
.-Which celebrity always has great make up?
Taylor Swift, Mila Kunis, Selena Gomez, Megan Fox, Emma Stone,
-If you could leave the house using just ONE make up item, what would you use?
Depeding on the day it would either be concealer or mascara.
-Could you ever leave the house without any makeup on?
Yes, I do it all the time
-Do you think you look good even without any makeup on?
I personally prefer my face with makeup as I don't have a lot of colour in my face.
-In your opinion, what is the BEST makeup line?
Hard to say as I haven't tried a whole lot but I am going to go with Benefit
.-What do you think of Makeup?
Makeup is a great tool to have but I feel that many abuse it. Makeup isn't about creating a whole new person, its about enhancing what you have. You don't need to wear layers of foundation and concealer or bronzer to change the way you look, just roll with what you have!

DIY semi fray crop shorts!

I think that spending $30 on a pair of shorts that show half my butt is a total rip off. So off to Vinnies I went (an Australian second hand or thrift shop) and I got a sweet pair of jeans for $5! I don't need any more jeans but I do need shorts. Here I am going to show you how to create a cute pair of shorts for no more than $10.

Materials:
Fabric scissors
Fabric chalk or sharpie
Ruler
Needle and thread
Iron

And of course your thrifted jeans! (Oh man that sounds so American!)

Ok, ready to go? First step: measure your jeans. I went down 8cm from the crotch but I would have preferred to go 10cm. It all depends on how short you want them. Don't forget to mark them with your pen. It is best to go up from the crotch but I just went straight across.

Now the fun part! Cut them jeans!
Yes. I am aware they are now uneven but It doesn't really matter in the long run because when they are on it doesn't really show.

Next! Turn on the iron, roll the jeans up once or twice and iron that baby down!

Once you are happy with them get your needle and thread out and stitch up the inside fold to help prevent that annoying unfolding.
Yes, I know... Very botchy. But who cares?
All that's left to do is fray it a little (it will also fray in the wash) and who would've ever thought? A new pair of shorts!!

Ta da!

I am aware that mine go down at the sides but I don't mind it to be honest, I mean, a whole $5 for an awesome new pair of shorts, who cares!

Just Say YES!

I have spent a lot of my time over the past two years, in my room, alone. I know that sounds horrible but majority of the time, it was my choice.

You see, I have had a really hard time over the past two years. Suffering with depression and anxiety. I used to think things would never would get better. I also thought that I was not a good enough person for anyone to want to hang out with me. So I always said no, to so many opportunities that would have been amazing.

Then I met someone who was totally opposite to me. Confident, outgoing, and just an all round amazing person, and she made me do things that I would have normally said no too,
Which brings me to the point of just saying yes.

Having anxiety makes me want to say no no no no no, to everything because I think about all the negative things that could happen and in my head i think they will happen. But just say YES. Take the chance and nearly every time it will turn out AMAZING.

Never doubt your ability to become something amazing. YOU ARE A FORCE TO BE RECKONED WITH.

So just say YES!

The true story of a teenage girl who doesn't like hobbies.

My mother has been telling me for months to get a hobby.... but previously my 'hobbies' have never turned out so well...

The first one I can remember is my beading phase.I was roughly around 9 years old, even then mum constantly told me I needed a hobby. I had a friend who made all these awesome jewellery things and, naturally, I wanted to join in on the fun. Mum bought me a little kit, and you know, it went fine for like a week or two. That's when i started to realise that I suck at beading.... So i left that little kit on the top shelf of my cupboard.

The next phase was around when I was 11 or 12. I chose scrapbooking, because, again, it was all the rage at the time. To cut a long story short.. I sucked at that too.

So I haven't really had a hobby since then, I have tried card making, cooking sort of and even painting. I just don't enjoy it. This is the point in time of around 14 I form an unhealthy addiction to the internet (ok, so it's probably not classified as an addiction seeing as I can scrape by without it, but I do waste an awful of time on my computer doing who knows what? Seriously I don't even know...) Ever since then I haven't really tried another hobby.

I should probably say something about current me. Im still a teenager... I live in Australia. I ride kangaroo's to work... just kidding. hahahaaaaaa.... Um I left school early to study a diploma in beauty therapy WHICH I LOVE. I am very indecisive and clearly not very good at arts and crafts but I can play guitar and currently teaching myself piano.. As you do.

The time has now come where I need to try a new hobby, and due to the fact of my mother nagging me all the time, I decided to think of something. Then it dawned on me - the perfect hobby for someone who lives on the internet - BLOGGING.

So yeah. This is it. I will post my thoughts on thing, fashion thingys, and even beauty because funnily enough thats my forte`.

So if anyone just happens to read this, which I highly doubt, please stay posted for much more to come!!
