Australis Paparazzi Perfect HD eyeshadow review

Hey my lovely people.
Sorry for being completely MIA. I have been so busy lately! I went to beauty school for a week and did my makeup prac block. The day of my assessment my grandad passed away which has been really hard. After the funeral my sister stayed for a week, so I have been super busy!

Enough of the chit chat, today I am doing a review of the Australis Paparazzi Perfect High Definition Eyeshadow palette with the name Snap Attack.

I bought mine at Big W a little while ago, I haven't checked if they still sell it but I am sure you will still be able to find it online somewhere.

The palette consists of some gorgeous bronze shades to create the perfect bronzed smokey look.

These eyeshadows are pearlescent, meaning they give off a beautiful shiny pearl finish. The texture of these eyeshadows are so smooth and velvety, very good quality, considering the price.

This is photographed in natural light but they also photograph great with flash, as seen below.

Overall, I love this palette. The eyeshadows are long lasting and excellent quality for the price. Definitely worth it.

Till next time, stay beautiful! X

My Skin Care Routine

My skin care routine includes two products - witch hazel and coconut oil.

Coconut OIL on you're skin! You're crazy it will clog you up!
I know the word oil may seem a bit strange and scary to use on your skin but coconut oil is hydrating and acts as an anti ageing and detox for your skin. It is also a cleanser and moisturiser. I know crazy right (I will mention more about the health benefits of coconut oil in another post because it is truly amazing!).
You can buy this whole sale or from health food shops for cheap as chips compared to generic cleansers (considering you only use the tiniest amount!

Witch Hazel is also a great product, it both cleanses and tones. It smoothes pores, assists moisturiser and helps with your makeup performance. It is great for teens because it has minimal alcohol in it. The only alcohol in it is due to the distilling of the product.
I buy mine at Big W in Australia for around $9 and it lasts me ages.

You're also going to need makeup pads - make sure they are 100% cotton. I buy mine in a two pack or 80 at Big W for around $3.50

My routine -
1. I poor some coconut oil into the palm of my hand and proceed to rub it all over my face and neck.
2. I splash my face with water - your face is going to feel all sticky and thick the water doesn't go to far and you will find it will sort of stick to your face.
3. I take a 100% cotton makeup pad and start to wipe it off (literally)
4. Once I have wiped the cotton pad and removed most of the cotton oil I take another makeup pad and put some witch hazel on it to use as a toner, I wipe this all over my face.
5. Let the witch hazel dry before you place the coconut oil on again.
6. Again, I take the coconut oil in the palm of my hand and rub it into my skin. It will eventually settle in to your skin by itself.

And thats it! Its cheap and makes your skin soft and clear. My hands also become super soft and silky because of the coconut oil (extra bonus, yippee!).

PS - sorry I haven't posted much recently I have been super busy and stumped for ideas.

Whats your eye shape?

No one is the same, we all have different eyes, faces, noses, mouths, you get the picture. My point is that due to the fact that we all look different we can't all follow the same beauty trends because it may not look good on us. Today I am focusing on eye  shapes and the makeup looks for them.

Here are the different eye shapes.

  • Like an oval face is the ideal face shape, almond eyes are the ideal eyes.
  • Close set eyes are less that one eye width apart and wide set are more than one eye apart.
  • Hooded eyes often come with age as the skin becomes loose, but it can also be hereditary.
  • Deep set are deep in the socket compared to others, the brows can often protrude??? a little bit.

So now you have figured out what shape you are you may be wondering, what the heck do I do now?

Well, my lovely, I am going to tell you the best way to apply eyeshadow and liner to help you achieve the best looking eyes in the room.

Wide Set Eyes - add a shade/darker colour in > shape on the outside of your eye into the crease line and also in the corner of your eye to detract attention from the space in-between and make your eyes appear closer together.
Downturned Eyes - The focus for this is to shade up and out. Apply and blend eye shadow to the crease line in the outer 2/3 of the eye and apply eyeliner to the upper lash line. This will make the eye appear less downturned.
Almond Eyes - Any eye technique will work on this eye shape.

Close Set Eyes - Use light colours on the inner corners and extend the eyeshadow out with darker colours to make the eye appear elongated and further apart.

Protruding/Prominent Eyes - Using medium to dark matte colours you are going to shade the eye.

Hooded Eyes - Use matte colours in medium to dark and keep it simple.
Deep Set Eyes - Apply light colours on the lid and a deep colour in the crease and just above the crease blending up and out.

Asian Eyes - Highlight on lid and brow bone and elongate eyeshadow with a darker shade.

Hope I helped you guys, sorry I haven't posted much I have been away and busy studying.

How to love your pixie hair!

So you have been on pinterest and seen all the amazing pictures of cute girls with pixie hair cuts and fallen in love, i can't blame you either, they are pretty amazing.

You have decided to make the huge decision to chop off all your locks, not really knowing how it's going to go and then bam! You officially hate your hair…

You may feel that you don't know how to style it, that its always going to look the same, its flat, its gets oily faster, and that it is actually going to take years before you will be able to do anything with it.

If you're in this situation then keep reading because I have had the pixie hair and the short bobs / shags, and I have hated it loved it. Here are my tips.

How to love your hair.

Step 1. Don't give up on it completely, keep it healthy.

Step 2. Get some foils and/ or layers, add some texture in there!

Step 3. Invest in some good quality texturising spray, this will be your new bff.

Step 4. Don't go too long before washes because oily hair is not attractive and i find more noticeable in shorter hair.

Step 5. Take your fringe (if you have one) and put it in a different direction for the day, maybe you could pin it back for a change. Put it to the side or straight back and teeze it a little. There are so many different ways to style your fringe, you'll never get bored!

Step 6. Get some cute headbands, they add a cute little detail to your hair.

Step 7. If you really hate that much and are growing it out, get regular trims. (Im not a prime example on this but its a good idea) :P

Step 8. Be patient. There is nothing left to do now but work with what you have for the next couple months so just roll with it!

And if you are wanting to get your hair hair cut I thought I might throw some cute style ideas in here :)

Rimmel 60 seconds dry nail polish

The colour I am using today is 819 Green With Envy. The picture doesn't show it but it is blue with green metallics through it.

For a classic manicure you do a base coat, two coats of the polish and a top coat.

Some polishes require more than two coats to get the perfect amount of colour payoff. The Rimmel 60 second only requires two polishes to get the perfect colour.

The brush called an xpress brush. It is flat and great for application, covering more nail with a fuller coverage

Here is the side view of the brush

After one coat ^

After second coat,^ before tidy up and top coat.

After top coat and clean up.

Now for the claim of drying in 60 seconds

It's true. I didn't time it but it really does dry very fast, which is a big bonus!
I bought mine at Priceline for about $6.

Overall I am very impressed with this product and will definitely be buying more colours.

Till next time! Xx

I was my skin only once at night, washing your skin in both the morning and night can cause it to become more irritated and make your skin worse!-
What skin type do you have? (dry, oily, combo)
I have a combination skin (which is dry cheeks mostly and an oily T section)
-What is your current facial wash?
At the moment I am using Sothy's cleanser, toner, and rejuvenating cream

Benefit They're Real! mascara-
Sephora or MAC?
In Australia we don't have either.

Yes, I do it all the time
-Do you think you look good even without any makeup on?
I personally prefer my face with makeup as I don't have a lot of colour in my face.
-In your opinion, what is the BEST makeup line?
Hard to say as I haven't tried a whole lot but I am going to go with Benefit
.-What do you think of Makeup?
Makeup is a great tool to have but I feel that many abuse it. Makeup isn't about creating a whole new person, its about enhancing what you have. You don't need to wear layers of foundation and concealer or bronzer to change the way you look, just roll with what you have!

DIY semi fray crop shorts!

I think that spending $30 on a pair of shorts that show half my butt is a total rip off. So off to Vinnies I went (an Australian second hand or thrift shop) and I got a sweet pair of jeans for $5! I don't need any more jeans but I do need shorts. Here I am going to show you how to create a cute pair of shorts for no more than $10.

Materials:
Fabric scissors
Fabric chalk or sharpie
Ruler
Needle and thread
Iron

And of course your thrifted jeans! (Oh man that sounds so American!)

Ok, ready to go? First step: measure your jeans. I went down 8cm from the crotch but I would have preferred to go 10cm. It all depends on how short you want them. Don't forget to mark them with your pen. It is best to go up from the crotch but I just went straight across.

Now the fun part! Cut them jeans!
Yes. I am aware they are now uneven but It doesn't really matter in the long run because when they are on it doesn't really show.

Next! Turn on the iron, roll the jeans up once or twice and iron that baby down!

Once you are happy with them get your needle and thread out and stitch up the inside fold to help prevent that annoying unfolding.
Yes, I know... Very botchy. But who cares?
All that's left to do is fray it a little (it will also fray in the wash) and who would've ever thought? A new pair of shorts!!

Ta da!

I am aware that mine go down at the sides but I don't mind it to be honest, I mean, a whole $5 for an awesome new pair of shorts, who cares!
